Why should I attend the Community Services Expo?

The Expo provides a unique opportunity to access a wide range of local community organisations in one place. You will have the chance to talk directly with service providers to find out about what they do, as well as receive information material to take away.

What type of services will be at the Expo?

Every year the Blacktown Mt Druitt Community Services Expo attracts over 80 community organisations. Services available on the day will cover areas such as housing, employment, health, disability, aged care, legal, education & training, as well as support for women, men, families & youth.

Are there any costs involved in attending the Expo?

No. The Community Series Expo is completely free to enter and all information & resources available by stallholders is provided without cost. Outside Bowman Hall on The Village Green there will be more information, activities and a free sausage sizzle available.

Apart from information stalls about community services, what else is happening at the Expo?

The Community Services Expo will make use of the outdoor space next to Bowman Hall on The Village Green. Information sessions and activities will be running throughout the day on The Village Green and a free sausage sizzle will be provided. Check this website for any updates and announcements about the Expo program in the coming weeks leading up to the event.

Stallholders

How much does it cost for an organisation to have a stall?

Nothing. Stallholders are invited to take part in the Community Expo without incurring an costs besides their staff time. We do welcome any donations from stall holders who wish to help cover the costs of running the event.

Is there access to power at each stall?

No. There is limited availability to power in Bowman Hall. If you require power, please bring your own (ie laptop batteries). Please contact the organisers on 9621 6633 if you require further information.

Is lunch provided for stallholders?

A free sausage sizzle will be set up on The Village Green as part of the Expo event, which is provided for those attending the Expo as well as for stallholders. Water will be available, thanks to partner STARTTS. Otherwise stallholders can make their own arrangements for lunch. Bowman Hall is in the heart of Blacktown CBD, so if you need to buy food there is a range of options close by, including Westpoint Shopping Centre.

Does someone from our organisation need to stay for the whole event at our stall?

Yes. It is up to each organisation to make arrangements regarding their staff attendance & ensure availability at their stall. For the benefit of the general public who come to the Expo to find out about local services, we encourage organisations to make themselves available for the entire duration of the Expo (10:00am – 2:00pm). We understand if you are unable to commit a staff member for the whole time and ask that you just let us know on the day if you need to leave early in case people are looking for your service.

Can I park my car outside Bowman Hall to unload & load my stall items?

Yes, you are allowed to park for short periods of time outside Bowman Hall at the beginning and end of the event to unload & load only.
