About Expo

The Community Services Expo is a biennial event held in Blacktown which is designed to connect people with their local service providers and community groups.

Over 80 exhibitors fill Bowman Hall each Expo providing information, resources and staff to answer questions and give advice about their services or community group. The Expo also includes information sessions, activities and a free sausage sizzle on The Village Green, just outside Bowman Hall.

“The Community Services Expo is the largest gathering of local service providers and community groups held in Blacktown.”

The Expo provides a unique opportunity for residents of the Blacktown Local Government Area (LGA) to discover the wide range of services and groups that make up our city. Up to 1000 visitors come through the doors on the day, so for organisations and community groups it is a great chance to promote who they are and what they do.

Expo History

The Community Services Expo emerges from the work done by the Blacktown and Mt Druitt Migrant Interagency, a vibrant and interactive meeting conducted monthly at SydWest Multicultural Services to provide networking and information for community service workers supporting refugees and humanitarian entrants in Sydney’s Western suburbs.

The Community Services Expo is a biennial event which has been successfully held in Blacktown for over a decade. It is traditionally hosted by both SydWest MS and Blacktown City Council. SydWest MS provides the event coordinator, while Blacktown City Council traditionally provides the venue, Bowman Hall, Blacktown.

At one point in the event’s history the Blacktown Council’s Community Services Conference and the Community Services Expo were combined, but they now operate as 2 separate events.
